Goals for Students Attending the LEAP Conference
Student will:
- Be inspired, inspire someone, learn and have fun doing it;
- See and hear from their peer students their ages engaged in leadership activities and excelling in middle/high school and college, sometimes against great odds;
- Network with other students, educators, administrators and policymakers around the state who work to improve education for Latino students and families;
- Gain important information about their education through educational workshops;
- Learn about their government and how to participate in important policy decisions by visiting the State Capitol to meet with their state representatives;
- Connect with different college representatives to talk about their future educational careers;
- Return to their respective communities equipped with new leadership skills and motivated to continue their education and develop leadership skills.
- Learn how organizations like LEAP work on important educational policies priorities and be prepared to discuss these with their peers in their own communities;
- Be inspired to continue their education and have the confidence to participate in public policy issues at home and in Washington state;
- Feel comfortable seeking assistance in any change to their communities through their networks of students, educators, administrators and elected officials;
- Motivated to continue the momentum at the conference with action plans they develop with their peers.

- Ser inspirados, inspirar a alguien, aprender y a divertirse hacindolo;
- Ver y a escuchar a sus compaeros --- estudiantes de su generación, que toman parte en actividades de liderazgo y superándose en la secundaria, preparatoria, y en la universidad, en ocasiones enfrentndose a todo;
- Comunicarse con otros estudiantes, educadores, administradores y legisladores alrededor del estado los cuales mejoran la educación de estudiantes y familias Latinas;
- Absorberán información esencial para su educación por medio de talleres educativos;
- Aprenderán sobre el gobierno y como participar en decisiones políticas importantes al visitar el Capitolio del Estado para reunirse con sus representantes estatal;
- Conectarse con diferentes representantes de las universidades para conversar sobre su futura carrera educativa;
- Regresar a sus comunidades respectiva equipados con nuevas habilidades de líderes y motivados para continuar su educacin y desarrollar habilidades de lderes;
- Aprenderán como organizaciones como LEAP elaboran prioridades en importantes leyes educativas y prepararse a hablar de esto con sus compañeros en sus comunidades;
- Ser inspirados a continuar su educación y adquirir la seguridad al participar en asuntos políticos en casa y en el Estado de Washington;
- Sentirse cómodos en buscar apoyo en algún cambio en sus comunidades por medio de sus contactos de estudiantes, educadores, administradores y de sus representantes electos;
- Ser motivados en la conferencia a continuar el impulso de proyectos de a cción que crearán con sus compaeros.
